Bharat Elects Fellowship
Kshetra works to collect people’s aspirations across the state, Parliament and assemblies enabling a constructive engagement democracy for policy-making process by working with civil society, NGOs, and local body representatives.
BHARAT ELECTS FELLOWSHIP aims is to support community mobilization to drive the political landscape with development orientation. The ethos of Kshetra is to create cross-movement work, re-imagine electing a party and a leader with a vision, and support public participation in building better democracy and leadership. It is designed to deliver skills in grassroots engagement, op-ed intelligence writing, presentations, field experience working with political leadership and parliament contestants.

Electoral politics in Bharat are a grassroots exercise and needs immense manpower. Kshetra works to bring in inclusivity and technology blend to optimise the resources to make it cadre and people centric.
Eligibility Criteria

Currently an on-course student of 2nd or 3rd year in an institute.

The student will complete graduation by June/July - 2025/2026.

Can put an approximate amount of serious work of 3-4 hours per day.
-
Can manage fellowship work along with institute course.

Citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

Selection Process

Step 1
Application
At Kshetra, we streamline our selection process to identify the best candidates. Students submit their projects, work, and resumes for evaluation, leading to the next round of assessments for a perfect fit with our team.
Step 2
Interview
After clearing the initial submission stage, students move to an online interview as part of our evaluation process at Kshetra. This interview allows us to assess their qualifications and fit within our team culture before final selections.
Step 3
Selection
In the first month at Kshetra, candidates are given a small assignment to gauge their real-time experience, a crucial step in our selection process. This assignment allows us to assess their practical skills and suitability for the role before making final decisions.
Roles and Responsibilities

Enable research and data-driven policy insights to MLA’s.

Presenting innovative solutions for shaping robust policies.

Enabling the honorable MLAs to understand policy complexities through insightful demonstration
-
Represent existing 'local needs' based best practices to be utilized to tackle governance issues using best global reference points.

Conducting workshops on capacity building of MLAs on contemporary policy issues, including Employment, funds, and state resources.

Analysis of governance-based issues of constituencies using evidence-based grassroots level data.

Drafting research-backed legislative speeches and press releases for MLAs.

Providing data on PRI demands/needs for governance reforms by conducting townhalls.

Facilitating information regarding cross-state issues with the help of existing legislation.

Suggesting transformative and innovative model framework to assure maximum participation of citizens.
